A big thank you to everyone that came out to show their support for local music on Friday 9 September at Unit 11. It was great sharing the stage with The Graeme Watkins Project as well as our close mates Shotgun Front. It was a very awesome evening and us Durbanites really went out of our way to make T.G.W.P feel at home!
A big thank you to everyone that came out this weekend to support us. Firstly on Friday night at Unit 11 (with John Ellis and Jesse Clegg) and then on Sunday (with Goodluck and CityBowlMizers). We had a great time and hope you did too.
I wise man once said that in the digital-age the art of stalking has had to adapt drastically, and in so doing adopt the use of FourSquare. Ok, so maybe there was no wise man, and maybe nobody ever said that, but we are on FourSquare nonetheless and would love for you and all your friends to follow (stalk) us. Follow us here.
Hey everyone, we thought it was time for our website to get a bit of an overhaul, you know, stick with the times, that sort of vibe.
Our goal was to simplify everything, so here you have it, everything in one place.
We hope you like it.

The start of this week saw us heading back to 3am Studios to begin work on the debut Red Light Stereo album.
With an awesome producer on board the song writing/adapting is off to a great start and we're very excited about the feel and vibe that this album is going to portray.
The plan is to write and workshop 10/12 new songs with the ultimate goal of creating a cohesive out-of-this-world professional sounding album that will blow your socks off.
We're not sure when the album will be finished and we're definitely going to be taking things slow to ensure the best results,so keep checking back here for updates.
Join Red Light Stereo, Lloyd Cele (Idols 2010 runner up) and Ard Matthews (Just Jinjer) for an afternoon of music which will treat not only mom but the whole family.
The Chris Saunders Park is situated across from the Wavehouse, Gateway in Umhlanga Rocks, with loads of free parking and stunning surroundings, be sure to get your tickets for this Mothers' Day concert early.
Tickets R80 pre-sale at Computicket or at BP Express stores in KZN or R100 at the gate.

Thanks to everyone that came out and showed their support on Sunday at Durban Botanic Gardens. If you were there, you were one of the 4 500 people that made this day a complete success. As always Prime Circle were amazing and we were honored to open for one of SA's top bands. It was really great meeting some of you after our set and we'll see you all again very soon. Check out the dates section for when we're playing next and bring yourself and all your friends along. Ciao

For those of you who haven't heard, we've had the privilege of being asked to share the stage with one of SA's top names Prime Circle this Sunday 6 March 2011 at Durban Botanical Gardens. It promises to be an awesome show so hurry up and get your tickets at www.ticketbreak.co.za. More details on the website.
So I'm not too sure how many of you have heard of tagging, or photo-coding as they tend to refer to it here in Durban. If you're like me, then you heard it in passing but never really took the time to look at what all the fuss was about. But after quite some time I finally did, and it is pretty awesome...
So in a nutshell, you download a tag reader using your mobile phone from this website. Install the reader and viola. All thats left to do is start the application and scan the tag and you are forwarded to special (sometimes hidden) bonus content.
After creating one of these tags and then testing it out, ideas came rushing into my head of all the awesome things that are possible with these nifty little tags, and so, in preparation for whats in store from Red Light Stereo, I'm making sure you hop on the bandwagon and get the reader so you don't miss out.
I've already created and uploaded the first of many tags to our facebook profile, check it out, scan it and enjoy.
There will be a lot more on its way in the future, possibly secret videos, pictures, songs for download, additional information, competitions.. who knows, but what I do know is its going to be awesome and a lot of fun. Enjoy.
So for those of you who haven't noticed yet, we've made our site just that little bit more interactive.
From this point forward each of us will be able to post on the site, and who knows what will come from this? Either way I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun and very entertaining.
But wait, you're involved in all of this too. If you look below each post you can see who posted it and how many people like it ... and then you can like it too. Here goes nothing! :D
We were stoked to catch up with some awesome publications this month to chat about the band, SA music and ... wait for it ... LOVE. Interested in seeing what we had to say? Check out these interviews:

So on Friday night we were asked to open for Johannesburg band Dead Alphabet at their EP launch at Unit 11 ... that was our reaction, where or what is this Unit 11 place. Well let me answer that, it's probably one of the coolest places in Durban. Think free popcorn, a bar with cheap drinks, table tennis, foosball and really awesome music. The concept is just fantastic, an industrial playground. So do yourself a favour and check it out www.unit11.co.za. All in all it was great to be back on stage after a bit of a break, and a big thank you must go to Bro Studios for doing the sound. Those who were there got to hear our new song and we can't wait to share it with the rest of you (as soon as its finished). Lliam

Not even two years after the formation of the band, North Coast rock 'n roll band Red Light Stereo have made their mark in a big way on the KZN music industry. Chia Kougianos spoke to the band about their upcoming music video, gigging in Durban and exactly what being a S.H.E.R.Q officer entails... (read more)

So we found ourselves onboard a flying mango this weekend, with its destination set for Johannesburg International Airport.
After landing in one piece, and surviving the snakes on the plane, we picked up our Avis rent-a-car (Nissan Tiida) and headed for Pretoria. After a quick pit stop at Moon's house (Dyl's uncle) and some great pasta it was onwards to Hatfield Square, the selected venue for the KFC Sessions Finals.
After the devastaing news that we had been picked to play first (in broad daylight and with not too many people present) a little RLS pre-show ritual was held and we were A for away. We gave it our all and were super stoked and surprised to come second, tied with our good mates Catlike Thieves.
The event was loadsa fun and a great success, thanks to KFC and all the other organisers.
Congrats to the winners, December Streets (PTA) and thanks to the other bands for their support, was rad jamming with you. Pretoria, we will see you soon, Lliam

We're going through a slight phase here trying to find a website that lends itself to our aesthetic. Unfortunately none of the links are functioning just yet but we will get that sorted as soon as possible. So while you wait for us to get our A's into G please feel free to play around, the cool thing about the web is that "If you break it, you don't pay for it!" Ciao, Lliam
